How do I find the information I need?

A datasphere is organized so that information is easy to locate. The datasphere is cataloged in such a way that all of the information is linked together. It is simple to move between property, equipment, contacts and documents.

Using the Menu Items

Menu Items are located in the top left hand corner of each page. The Menu Items are the categories of information or the Filtering views of the information. Moving the mouse cursor over a menu item causes the text of the item to darken. Clicking the menu item will take you to a new page, view or a different place on the current page. All pages contain a menu item labeled Home. Clicking the Home menu item always takes you back to the start page.

Using Links on a Page

Since much of the data within a datasphere is related, special fields called links are embedded into the datasphere list and detail pages. Text that is underlined is used to represent a link field. Clicking on the link will take you to the page represented by the link. In the contact detail view, if the URL contact item is visible, clicking of the link will take you to the represented website. (This assumes that the user is currently connected to the internet.) Clicking on any document link will display the document in a separate page. (This requires that the appropriate document viewer is available on the users PC).

Searching on a Page

A datasphere may contain hundreds or even thousands of items. This can make for very long lists on any of the available list pages. A find feature is available for the page that is currently being displayed. To access the find feature, press Ctrl + F keys to display the find dialog box. You may also select �Find on the page� from the browsers Edit menu item. To use the find feature type in a key word or words in the Find: edit box and click the Next button or press the enter key. Be sure to have your curser at the top of the page or click either �Up� or �Down� when you are searching. This action will take you to the first found instance of the entered text.
